Pupils and students who visit the Stadium can make use of the audio tour at a cos t of 5,00€ per person

  • Students at Greek schools and escorting teachers can visit the Stadium free of charge
  • A valid student ID is required for the purchase of student tickets.

For scheduled visits, the following options are recommended:

  • Tour of the Stadium with escorting teacher with free admission
  • Tour of the Stadium including audio tour at a cost of 5,00€ per person.
  • Participation in the innovative immersion program“Kids’ Athletics”, which is both educational and athletic, exclusively designed for pupils of primary schools operating under the authority of the Hellenic Ministry of Education.

The ‘Kids’ Athletics’ program is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of National Defence (https://www.mod.mil.gr/en/) , with the support of Paul and Alexandra Canellopoulos Foundation (https://pacf.gr/) by Greek Olympic Champions and top athletes.

This program emphasizes the role of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the Hellenic Olympic Academy in the promotion of sport, sportsmanship and extracurricular physical activity in accordance with the principles of the Olympic ideal, as well as the educational value of sport in shaping the personality of young people in the modern conditions we all experience.

The aim of the program is to provide students with a rich educational and informative material about the history of the stadium, which is a timeless symbol of sports, culture and history in the center of contemporary Athens, and at the same time, through an organized sports program in the form of a game, to give students the opportunity to get to know athletics, basketball and volleyball events up close.

During the program, students will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the Panathenaic Stadium through the self-guided tour system offered by the Greek Olympic Committee, while at the same time getting to know the sports of athletics, volleyball and basketball in a fun way. The program is aimed at two age groups, the first is for 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders and the second is for 4th, 5th and 6th graders. The “Kids Athletics” program, which takes place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, includes the athletics events. The “I love Sports” program, which takes place every Tuesday and Thursday, includes volleyball and basketball tournaments.

The “Kids’ Athletics” program of the World Athletics Federation is a series of motor and functional skills adapted to the needs of children according to their age and includes three groups of events: Road Running, Throwing and Jumping.

The Greek Volleyball Federation’s “Play Volleyball” program includes drills, goals and spikes with special balls, depending on the age of the children, and is held in a dedicated area on the track of the Panathenaic Stadium. Pupils are also introduced to the popular sport of basketball and its basic secrets.

At the end of the programme both the effort and participation of all children is rewarded and they are awarded a certificate.

Programme timetable

The program takes place daily at the Panathenaic Stadium from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, led by experienced Physical Education instructors. Each session lasts approximately two hours, with available time slots from 9:00 to 11:00 am or from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The program is designed for Primary Schools accross the country operating under the Hellenic Ministry of Education .

Rules

Children should arrive in suitable sports clothing and sports shoes. It is essential that students have provided their school with the “student health card” required by law for the participation of students in physical education and sports of all kinds, and a signed declaration from their parents.

After schools have planned their visit and confirmed a date with the Stadium, they should fax a list of the names of the students who will participate in the programme to 210 7526386 ten (10) days before the scheduled visit.

  • Children should bring:
  • A bottle of water
  • A hat for sun and …
  • Know that no drink, food or gum is to be consumed in the Stadium

A doctor is present in the Stadium in case of emergency.

Cancellation of visit

If you wish to cancel or postpone your visit, please contact the secretariat of the Stadium as soon as possible so that your time slot can go to another school.
